Mixed Media Monday: Love

Since we’re close to Valentine’s Day, I figured why not do a Art Journal Page based around :LOVE. LOL Anyway, I had a great time as always creating this layout.

With this layout, I decided to do something a little different. I knew going into it that I wanted to do a black background, since I hadn’t done a black background before. I thought that some red hearts would also pop against the black, so I did just that. The only texture are really just the hearts which were hand drawn on some old book paper, the quote which was done on some scrap watercolor paper, the flowers and the lines around the edges done with both my hands and then the more precise lines were done with an old gift card.

All in all, I really like the way this art journal entry turned out. Just the overall look and feel of the hearts floating up came together with the quote by Khalil Gibran, “Love…it surrounds every being and extends slowly to embrace all that shall be.” So this is Love. I hope you enjoyed my Mixed Media Monday! 🙂

Happy Scrappin’!
