Watercolor Script

image

Good Morning Everyone!
This morning, I’m in the studio trying my hand at some watercolor scripting.  I see this, like many things will take some practice.  Yes, I have along way to go, but I’m determined to get this down. I hope you all will join me on this journey, and if you have any suggestions, please feel free to leave a comment below.  🙂

My Right Now

image

Yep, you got it.  I currently have a file folder full of magazine cut-outs!  Now it’s time for me to get to work and try to organize them.  Updates to come.  If you use magazine cut-outs in some of your work, how do you organize them? I’d love to hear, so please leave me a message in the comments section.   Wish me luck!  🙂

XOXO,

ICAD Day 23: Play & Have Fun

Hello, hello, hello!
I hope everyone is doing week today.  Today I’m sharing my ICAD that I completed this morning.  I’m so sorry,  about half way through, I realized that I hadn’t taken any photos…. so this is not a tutorial post as originally planned.  Hopefully for tomorrow’s card, I won’t forget to take some pictures along the way.  So here we go.

Here is a more up close view, you can somewhat see the layers in this ICAD.

ICADs Days 16-22

Today, I’m sharing my ICADs from Days 16-today. I hope you all enjoy them as much as I enjoyed making them!  ☺

image

Day 16:  I decided to do a little stamping and stenciling.  I used a Heidi Swapp Spray Stencil with Tim Holtz Distress Inks and outlined the stenciled pattern with a Pilot Pen. Next using Jet Black Archival Ink, I used a Dylusions Stamp to create the female outline and then I colored that in with Tim Holtz Distress Ink that I added water to.  Lastly, I inked my edges with my Faber-Castell PITT Artist Pen Big Brush (Black).

Day 17: This card was all about using one color and adding a piece of mail to it. So I paired up this piece of Victoria Secret mailer from back in February with a black acrylic paint in the background.

image

Day 18: I was short on time, so I went through my magazine cutouts and found this beautiful mountain view, found a fitting magazine saying, inked my edges and I was done.  I love this one.  I think this one might end up in my planner.  The mountain view from the lake just looks so peaceful!

image

Day 19: This one was so fun to make, plus it just makes me laugh!  First I used a Tim Holtz Stencil with Distress Ink and then began looking through my magazine cutouts and found this chick.  Once I saw her, I grabbed another Tim Holtz stencil, put that on my background, glued my girl down and added the quote from a Dylusions Stamp Set.  Inked my edges added some color to the quote and that’s all she wrote!  🙂

image

Day 20: Isn’t she stunning?!?  This quote was sitting on my fest waiting to be used!  First I used Tim Holtz Distress Ink mixed with water for my background, glued this beauty down, added my quote, added a little more pink to her lips, cheeks and eyelids…but she was missing something, so lucky I quickly found the perfect necklace that I cut down to size to look like a headpiece.  Now she looks like a Brave, Beautiful Princess.

image

Day 21: It’s all about the circles!  I wanted to make circles so I did! It doesn’t really show up here, but I love how vibrant this card is in person.

image

Day 22: And lastly, the butterfly!  I painted my background using acrylic paint, added some Tim Holtz tissue wrap, painted the butterfly, added some dots to her and some Wink of Stella Glitter, for some added sparkle and finished up the card with a quote from a Dylusions Stamp Set.

Thank you so much for sticking me through this long post.  Until tomorrow, take care.

Listers Gotta List June Challenge

Good Morning Everyone!
Today I will be showing you all some of my favorite layouts from the June Listers Gotta List Challenge by Cori: The Reset Girl.
I’ve been participating in the challenges since April.  And once I started doing them, I just love it, because naturally I am a lister….I just have to write everything down… so this was perfect for me.  Plus, it’s a way for me to focus on me, to document my everyday.
During the months of April and May, I used an empty Smashbook that I’ve had for years.  I am happy to say that I filled just about the entire book minus mature 4 or 5 pages.  So I think that was pretty good.   If you would like to see a video of my layouts from April, please click here, and you can visit my profile page on Instagram to find some of the layouts from May.
Below you will see that I made a Fauxdori (also know as a Traveler’s Notebook. It was very easy and inexpensive. I will be sharing that tutorial soon).

It’s actually light blue, although in the pic it looks gray.  I decided I would switch this up for the challenge and go smaller,  this way I could easily travel with my book.  Although it can be a little challenging at times… for layouts,  I really love the size.  It fits perfectly into my Betsy Johnson Zipper Pouch along with a few supplies.  So anyway, below you will find some of my favorite layouts so far this month.  Enjoy!
