This Morning

Good Morning!

I just wanted to share with you all a glimpse of my morning.  Whenever I have the opportunity, I like to be able to sip my coffee and read a good book. Right now, I’m currently reading R.M. Drake’s latest book “Black Butterfly.” If you are into poetry, I would definitely recommend checking out his book(s).

Nothing Is Left, page 172

Are you currently reading anything interesting? I would love to hear about what you all are reading right now, or what you have read recently that was really good.

Until next time, Happy Reading!

Upcoming Planner Layouts

OMG!  I can’t believe today is the last day of August!  My, my, my how time flies!  As the summer comes to a close, I can’t help but love the color scheme for this month in my Happy Planner. For me, the dark green with the black and white are a perfect welcoming to fall. So with that being said, I look forward to sharing with you all my September monthly spread along with this week’s planner spread in tomorrow’s post so stayed tuned!

Happy Planning!

Since this is the last week of August (WOW), I knew I wanted to stay true to the gold theme which I have incorporated into each spread this month. I have truly enjoyed works by with the pink, black, white and gold color scheme.  I love how the pattern paper from the paper packs worked out great and as you can see, I went little crazy with the DIY Diamond Embellishments (made from the diamond patterned paper).

Since Michael Jackson would have been celebrating his 57th birthday this Saturday and since he is one of my favorite artists, I had to add one of my favorite photos of The King of Pop to my planner spread.

On the left side panel, I used watercolors to highlight the week and I used gold ink and a fountain pen to write my quote. All-in-all, I love the way this spread came out and I hope it has inspired you all to decorate your own planners.  Please feel free to follow me on Instagram by clicking here

Week in the Life: Day 2 Overview

WOW, two days down with the Week in the Life Project. Today I will be sharing with you all a breakdown of my yesterday.

I’m happy to have been able to capture the girls and how they greet Daddy when he comes home from work! Pure joy, Pure love!

The girls woke up this morning ready to get their watercoloring on!  This was a great way for them to busy themselves seeing as how the cable guy was on his way.
After enjoying watercoloring, the girls moved on to playing with Dora, Barbies and Shopkins. Later they played with makeup and took a cute picture for me.

Definitely a snap shot of our day. The girls came and got in bed with me this morning, here they are knocked out. The cable guy came by to switch out our box, my husband’s reaction to Project Life (he doesn’t enjoy the process, but loves the end product) LOL. Today was laundry day, we’re getting ready for back to school, tacos for dinner, and I started going through my acrylic stamps…..I’m trying to reorganize my stuff.

This girl is always on her toes….our ballerina princess.  Me cooking dinner while the girls and Jason were at the playground. The quiet time was good to have.

Tuesday was overall a good day. The thing I am grateful for on this day is that my husband understands the importance of me getting some alone time. It helps me to clear my mind and try to find balance in my world.

Thank you for joining me on this overview of Tuesday in a Week in the Life of me. 😀

Week In The Life – Previous Years Recap

A week in my life!  This week I am participating in Ali Edwards Week In The Life Project.  This will be my 5th year since 2007 participating in this project and if you read my post from Monday, you know that I love this project!  I’m happy to be participating in it again.  With that being said, I wanted to share with you all some of my favorite layouts from previous years.  So, let’s get started!

Fall 2007 Week In the Life – 12×12 Album

Documenting Life Before Kids:

I completed this album a few weeks after meeting Ali Edwards.  I was a volunteer in her Week In The Life class at Creating Keepsake University in Nashville, TN.  It was a wonderful and inspiring class and Ali was so nice to meet and talk with.

Spring 2010 Week In The Life – 8.5×11 Album

Documenting Life with 1 Child:

All I can tell you is that I remember this being a busy week.  We had a teething little one, work, we were gearing up for hubby’s graduation, starting to pack for our move back to Texas, I was volunteering that week, and entertaining friends.  Life was busy, but it was still great and we had a lot to be thankful for!  🙂  This Album is dear to me because it captured our last Spring in Tennessee, before moving back to Texas.

Life with 1 and Another on the way

Big Cheeks and a cute little bump!  I love the little moments that were captured.  🙂  This was our first Spring back in The Lone Start State!  Looking through these pictures, I believe I mirrored the original look of A Week in the Life with the template/spread that Ali Edwards created back in 2007.

2013 Week In The Life   Whole spread done on both 12×12 and 8.5×11 protective sleeves.

Monday -Thursday details on first 12×12 protective sleeves.

Monday-Sunday daily life captures were done in the 8.5×11 protective sleeves, one side of a sheet per day.  Seen above is Monday.

 Tuesday and Wednesday.
 Thursday and Friday.

Saturday and Sunday.

Various photos from throughout the week to close the week out.

Friday-Sunday life details with photos and words.

Life with 2 little Beauties

I’m so glad I was able to capture this part of a Week In The Life and incorporate it into Project Life.   To see how our lives changed between 2007 – 2013 is amazing.  How we went from no kids to 2 kids in just a short amount of time is pretty cool.

Anyway, I hope you enjoyed taking a walk down memory lane with me and viewing some of my past spreads, in no particular order.  If you would like to see a detailed break down for 2007, 2010, and 2011 like I did with 2013 just leave me a comment below, as the photos from those years were ones I was able to pull from an old USB.

Well, please feel free to join me tomorrow as I take on my prep for this years Week In The Life.  No, I won’t be incorporating it into Project Life.  :).  Lastly, please feel free to follow me on Instagram by clicking here

Until next time, Happy Crafting!

Week In The Life: Day 1 Overview

Hello Everyone!

It’s all about a Week In The Life this week. And today I’m sharing My Day 1….yesterday.  Remember this project is all about documenting/capturing our everyday lives. Read along see how my day went yesterday and the moments that I was able to capture! By the looks of the photo of me in bed, you can clearly see that I am by no means a morning person.  Elle woke me up…it’s Monday!  I had one of my favorite breakfasts…sausage not pictured. I had to document Em playing. She is so good at imagination play and I love the fact that she can play well by herself and with others.  An Observation that I made is that the eggs at Wal*Mart are way too expensive. I mean, I know there’s an egg shortage and all, but I think they are taking advantage of the situation so I went across the street to HEB and bought my eggs, there was a dollar difference in the price for the same brand!

I was trying to capture my mascara….but this photo was an epic fail! LOL. My grocery list and I watched yesterday’s stories (The Young & The Restless), after we put the girls to bed…and the cool quotes, I found them on Instagram.

Elle made me pay her $0.25 for a piece of gum….mind you, I’m the one who purchased the gum for her. The girls were on 100 the whole time we were in Wal*Mart. No, they didn’t even know I was taking this picture. Elle put her earrings on by herself for the first time! You go girl! It is really time to clean my desk…please don’t judge!  Us after the kids went to bed, we were happy to get them in bed on time. We’re trying to get them back on track before school starts. 😀

Thank you for sharing my first day of my Week In The Life. Again, if you would like to know more about A Week In The Life, please visit Ali Edwards website here. Also, please feel free to follow me on Instagram by clicking here
