Halloween Planner Layout

Hello Everyone!!!!

I hope you all are doing well this Halloween Eve!

Well let’s get started on this week’s planner layout. In sticking with the Spirit of Halloween I decided to go with a Halloween Theme of course. So here it goes:

Above is an upclose shot of the left side of my planner layout. For the side notes panel, I used a quote from none other than Michael Jackson’s Thriller.  If you don’t listen to any other song for Halloween, Thriller is a must!

An up close shot of the right side of my planner layout. For the witches broom I used Prismacolor Verithin color pencils.

Pictured above, I wanted to capture the glitter that I put on on of the spider webs on my layout.  I used the Wink of Stella Clear Glitter Brush for this.

Materials Used: Washi Tape from Hobby Lobby and Wal*Mart, VersaMagic Ink (Red Magic), Memento Ink (London Fog), StńĀz On Ink (Jet Black), Le Pen (Black), Sticko Halloween Stickers – Black and White Spiders, Sticko Flat Stickers-Vintsge Pumpkins, Jolee’s Boutique Halloween Stickers-Happy Halloween Banner Repeat, Pink Paislee Phantom Clear Stamp Set, and Graphic 45 Happy Haunting Clear Stamp Set

Pictured above is the completed Haunted Layout!  I hope you all enjoyed this spread. Have a safe and fun Halloween tomorrow.

Stamp Set Review

Happy Tuesday Everyone!!!!!

I hope everyone is enjoying this Fall weather so far!   Today I wanted to share with you all my newest stamp set. I pre-ordered it last month from Sandra Amelia and it came in just in time for me to do my Planner Layout for last week. So let’s take a look at this stamp set:

Above is the stamp set from Sandra Amelia. I love everything about this stamp set!  I love how on each little image she has added faces to them. I also like how you can customize the book, planner and “currently” rectangle. And the diamond, I mean, what girl doesn’t need a diamonds stamp in her life?!?

Here are the inks I used to stamp the images.

To get comfortable with a stamp set, I like to ink them up using various inks. As seen above, I used VersaMagic, Versafine and Memento. When stamping the images, I liked Versafine the most as it seemed to give a more clear and precise image.

Up close view of the stamps inked onto 110 lb cardstock.

  Upclose view is pictured above.

Stamps and Copic Markers that were used to color in the stamps.

I can’t say enough how much I enjoyed working with this stamp set. I like how much effort Sandra put into making sure you are able to customize the set to your liking.

Overall, I give this stamp set two thumbs up. I love how you can use it for not only your planner, but also for Project Life or any other Scrapbooking and/or card making project. Also, I noticed that none of my stamps stained which is also amazing, that speaks volumes to the quality of the stamps!!!! Please click here to check out more of the stamp sets Sandra Amelia has to offer.

Until next time, Happy Crafting!

Hands on Hands Mixed Media Art

Hello Everyone!  I haven’t done a Mixed Media piece in a while so I wanted to share this piece I started working on a few weeks back.

I’ve had the idea of drawing hands in my mind for quite sometime now. And finally about 2 weeks ago, I built up the courage to just do it!  So what you see below is my very first attempt at sketching hands and then painting them.

I used a background that I created in early summer to sketch my hands on. Once I sketched them, I let the piece sit on my desk for the past two weeks. I knew once I drew the hands that I would quote one of Taylor Swifts songs, This Love for my journaling.

So here are the hands this afternoon after I finished painting them. Overall I’m happy with the look of the piece, with it being my first time and all.

Afterwards, I added my journaling, parts of the lyrics to This Love. I’m thinking I may go over the lyrics one more time to make them a little darker before I add this piece to my art journal.

I’m happy that I went ahead and took the plunge on creating this piece as it had been on my mind for quite sometime as I stated before. I’m learning to trust inspiration as it knocks on my door. To trust it, to let it in and to allow it to take me on a journey I’ve never been on.

Cheers to letting inspiration flow within!

Happy Crafting!

Planner Update & Product Review

Hello Everyone!

I just wanted to take sometime out to share with you all my planner layouts for last week and this week. Let’s get started!

October 5-11, 2015

I like the way the colors came together for last week’s spread to create this fun and playful look.  On the side panel, I decided to use watercolors to add my quote for the week.

October 12-18, 2015

On the spread for this week, I decided to use a free planner printable set from my planner envy. I used the Pink, Navy and Gold Sampler and paired it with Me and My Big Ideas, Heidi Swapp, Oh Snap! and Sticko Stickers. The stamps are from Chic Tags. I absolutely adore the sampler sheet from My Planner Envy and the way it all came together.  I believe that I will definitely use another set in the future….maybe near future!  ūüôā

That’s all for now! Happy planning!

Michael’s, JoAnn’s and Staples Haul

Hello Everyone!

Today, I just wanted to share with you all my haul from earlier this week.   I don’t have a JoAnn’s in the town I live in, and the closest one is 45 minutes away, so when I do get to go, it’s a treat for me. But anyway, here is my haul for this week:

From Michael’s:  A 30 sheet pack of Gold Foil Paper Hot But Pack , Simple Stories Oh Snap! Life Documented Calender Sticker Set, dollar stamp set with the airplane and Bon Voyage saying, and Recollections Sticky Notes.

From Joann’s, I was able to finally get the Tim Holtz Collection Layering Stencil: Ray and Cargo and the General’s Sketch and Wash Watersoluble Graphite Pencil set, I grabbed and eraser too….just because…I mean, you always need an eraser with your new pencils right?!?

Lastly at Staples, I found these extra cute and slim pencil pouches in their clearance section for only $1!  I had to get three of them, one for me and each of my DDs along with the poppin’ soft cover mini notebooks….in Metallic Colors!  I’m so excited about filling mine up with some crafting goodies!

What cute/fun things have you purchased lately and what are you most looking forward to using?

Well, until next time, happy crafting!

Flag Background Planner Layout Tutorial + October Planner Monthly Spread

Hello Everyone!!!!!  I hope you all are off to a Magnificent Monday so far!  Today, I wanted to share a tutorial with you all as well as share my finished October Planner Spread. So let’s get started with the tutorial.

First things first, I started with a semi blank spread – minus my monthly quote, I added a triangle with my t-ruler on the left hand side of the spread.

Next, which you can barely see in the photo, I added straight lines going across the two pages for the stripes of the flag.

Using a stencil, I traced a star onto a post-it note.

This star will be used as a mask in the center of the triangle as you will soon see.     To mask off the triangle area, I will be using Post-It tape. I will be adding the star to the center of the triangle with removable adhesive.

After masking off the triangle portion of my flag, I gathered my Tim Holtz Distress Ink in Peacock Feathers and Fired Brick which I will be using to color in the flag.

Above is the triangle after I have added the Peacock Feathers Distress Ink.

After taking the Post-It Tape off along with the traced star on the post-it note this is the final result.

Next, I taped off the area to make the stripes for the flag. The parts with the tape will later be the white stripes on the flag.

Above I am adding the Fired Brick Distress Ink to the white areas that are not masked off.

After inking up my pages with the Fired Brick Distress Ink, this is what my planner page looked like. Now it’s time to take the tape off!

Above is the full spread with the Puerto Rico flag.

Here is my October Planner Spread with most of the things for the month filled in. Regarding why I chose the Puerto Rican flag….I felt the need to honor my Puerto Rican roots in an artistic form. National Hispanic Heritage Month this year started on September 15, 2015, and will end on October 15, 2015. The Puerto Rican culture is so vibrant and full of life. I didn’t want the month to pass with out me representing my heritage!

I hope you all enjoyed this tutorial and find a way to incorporate stencils, or your own art into your planner spreads.

Until next time, Happy Planning!
