Mini Haul!

Hello everyone!

I just wanted to share today’s mini haul with you all.

This week, Michael’s has their Recollections washi tape on sale 40% off with a coupon, but for today only, they have a 50% off coupon. So I purchased the above washi tape tubes. At Hobby Lobby, it was a little weird because it seems as though Fall is coming early this year. Yes, they have started putting out their fall decor!  I was like, “Oh My!” when I saw it!

But back to the haul!

Everything else beside the washi tape I purchased at Hobby Lobby. The faith based stamps were only $5.99 (plus and additional 40% off) versus Michael’s $9.99. I also purchased the cute travel stickers, some cool mixed media looking magnetic bookmarks and some fabric pieces and lace in hopes of trying to make some fabric decorative paper clips.

That’s it for now. I hope you all enjoyed this mini haul post!

Until next time, happy crafting!

Chic Planning:  May 23-29, 2016 – Coffee Please

Hello everyone!

Yes, based on Saturday’s post and the title of this post, you got it, this week is all about coffee!!!!

For as long as I can remember I have loved the smell and the taste of coffee. At 7 years old, I remember going to a local natural food grocery store and sneaking off to get a sample of their coffee. I would mix my cream and a little bit of sugar and the taste would be beyond perfect…just pure heaven. Since I couldn’t drink coffee at home, in high school my drink of choice was Coke. My Mom would always tell me that drinking coffee would stunt my growth….but some how I still ended up 5’10.

But anyway, once I left for college coffee soon became my drink of choice and in 2001, I was introduced to Starbucks!  I remember there was a time that I would have Starbucks literally EV-ERY-DAY!  Now now so much. I still have coffe every morning, but Starbucks, I now enjoy it once or twice a week.

Anyway, enough about my love affair with coffee. Let’s get to this week’s layout!

Left Side up close.

Coffe is most definitely always a good idea. When I saw this cute little sticker, I knew I had to use it!  And the quote on the left panel reads:

Of course SIZE MATTERS nobody want a small cup of coffee. ~Unknown

I’m not sure who made this statement, but they were right on point when they said it.

Right Side up close.

Here on the right side I continued with the coffee theme. I like the sticker that reads “My blood type is coffee.”  That is so true with me. LOL

Full Layout. Materials Used: Free Printables by and victoriathatcher. com; Tim Holtz Collection Splatters Layering Stencil; Hero Arts Clearly Kelly – Kelly’s Coffee and Donuts wooden stamp set; Tim Holtz Distress Ink – Vibtage Photo; Ranger Archival Ink – Coffee; Sakura Gelly Roll Pen – Brown

Above is the full layout. I love the look that the coffee mug stains add and the coffee bean outlines are just too cute. The cute little donut girl and unicorn by Victoria Thatcher bring a nice fun element to the page which finish it off well.

I hope this page has inspired you to create something nice in your planner as well as grab a nice big cup of joe!

Happy Planning!

Chic Planning: May Weekly Layoyts

Hello Everyone!

I know I am weeks behind and I do apologize, so I’m going to make this post as short as possible. So let’s get started!

May 2-8, 2016:  Butterflies Everywhere

We’ve been seeing a lot of butterflies this Spring so I wanted to commemorate this week’s layout to their grace and beauty.

Materials Used: Tim Holtz Distress Ink – Cracked Pistachio, Black Soot, Evergreen Bough, Peacock Feathers; MAMBI Washi Tape; the Paper Studio Washi Tape; Archival Ink – Jet Black; Tim Holtz Distress Crayon Watercolor Kit; Stamp Sets – Heidi Swapp, Chic Tags Im A Planner Addict, The Sassy Club Planner Doodles/Sassy Life/Planner Girl, Tim Holtz Collection Visual Artistry Flughts of Fancy, Dylusions Clearly Doodle Parts/Floral Flourish, and The Happy Planner Sticker Set

I wanted to make sure that my butterflies looked as though they were captured mid-flight so I only glued the center part of the butterfly down.

The quote I ended up using on the left side panel (not pictured) stated:

Love is like a butterfly, it goes where it pleases and pleases where it goes. ~Unknow

May 9-15, 2015:  Honeycombs

This week was another ode to Spring. No birds, but definitely the bees.

Materials Used: Tim Holtz Distress Ink-Black Soot/Picked Raspberry; Versafine Pigment Ink-Onyx Black; Recollections Washi Tape & Banner Stamp; Heidi Swapp Heart Washi Tape; Stampabilities Blessings Wooden Stamp; Hero Arts Clearly Kelly Stamp Sets-Kelly’s Coffee & Donuts; The Crafter’s Workshop 6×6 Mini Chicken Wire Stencil; Clear Staml Sets-Heidi Swapp/Chic Tags Planner Addict/ Sandra Amelia The Sassy Club Planner Doodles/Planner Girl/Sassy Life/BoBunny ICONS Stamps; Target Dollar Spot Rewards Stickers/Class of 2016 Stickers; Simple Stories Clear Stickers; Tim Holtz Stampers Anonymous Clear Stamps-Random Thoughts; MAMBI Sticks Paper Stickers and Regular Stickers; MAMBI Create 365 The Happy Planner Stickers

I didn’t want to cover the spread with honeycombs so I made sure to leave some white space and added some bees and Rose washi tape to the spread.

The quote I ended up using on the left side panel (not pictured) stated:

The true secret of happiness lies in taking a genuine interest in all the details of daily life. ~William Morris

May 16-22, 2016:  Art

And lastly this week’s planner layout. It’s entitled, Art because I decided to do another mixed media layout.

Left Side

The quote by Barbra Streisand reads:

Art does not exist only to entertain, but also to challenge one to think, to provoke, even to disturb, in a constant search for truth.

Right Side

And below is the full layout for this week.

Materials Used: Dina Wakley Media Heavy Body Acrylic Paint-Magenta/Lemon/Turquoise; Dyan Reaveley Dylusions Pain-Black Marble; Recollections BOHO Wood Stamp; Washi Tape; Tim Holtz Distress Ink-Black Soot; Dylusions Stamp & Stencil-Shattered Bits; Basic Grey-Hello Stamp Set; Ranger Archival Ink-Jet Black; Memento Dye Ink-London Fog; Heidi Swapp Memory Planner Stamp Set; Chic Tag I’m A Planner Addict; Sandra Amelia’s The Sassy Club-Planner Doodles/Sassy Life/Planner Girl; Hampton Art Vintologie Stamp & Stencil Set; Art c Stamp & Cut Set; BoBunny ICONS Stamp Set

I fully agree with the quote, especially the part about art challenging us to think and search for truth. Also, art can make us feel provoked with anger or happiness and it can sometimes be so dark that it disturbs us to our core.

Here in this piece, I wanted to use my happy colors but I also wanted to add the element of mystery behind the eyes that pop up randomly.

Well, that is it for now. Thank you so much for sticking with me through this post. I hope you enjoyed it and were inspired by the spreads. Until next week,

Happy Planning!

Chic Planning: May Monthly Layout

Hello Everyone!

Today I’ll be sharing my May Monthly Layout along with this week’s layout.

For the May Monthly Spread I didn’t go with a particular theme, I just went with what I was feeling at the time.

Since this is the last full month of school, I decided to put these color pencil post-it’s from the Target Dollar Spot along the bottom of the layout.  In order to make sure the last three days of the month were accounted for, I added them onto the post-it’s with Some Tim Holtz Label Letter Stickers. The triangle background is from a Heidi Swapp Stencil.

On the right side, I continued with bob the color pencils along the bottom of the layout and the triangle background. On this end I added some washi tap on top of the color pencil post-it’s.

Materials Used: Stamp Sets – Studio g, Stampabilities Eat Drink Be Merry, Hero Arts Clearly Kelly Kelly’s Best Day Ever and Kelly’s Coffee and Donuts; the Paper Studio Washi Tape, Color Pencil Post-Its from Target Dollar Spot; Heidi Swapp Stencil and Sticker Set; Tim Holtz idea-ology Label Letters; Sn@p! by Simple Stories Calender Stickers; Becky Higgins Project Life Rub-On Transfer Sheet; the Paper Studio Inspirational Phrases Gold Foil Sticker Set

I’m totally loving the look and feel of this layout and I love the splash of color that the color pencils add.

Until next time, Happy Planning!
