Chic Planning:  June 27 – July 3, 2016: Good Vibes

Hello Everyone!

I hope everyone is enjoying their summer so far. This week, my planner theme is, “Good Vibes!”  I picked this theme because this week is a very busy week for us, so I wanted to be sure to remind myself to send out good, positive vibes into my world. So let’s get started!

Here is the left side of my layout. I’m using the MAMBI Dashboards as dividers in my planner. This pink one will be used to mark the current week in my planner.

I haven’t picked a quote yet to put in the left panel…but I love the quote at the bottom of the page:  This will be the best time of our lives.

Here is the right side of my layout.  I love the little doctor on Friday to symbolize my eye doctor appointment.

Materials Used: MAMBI The Happy Planner Stickers, Free Printables from and Simple Stories Coordinated Good Day Sunshine Collection, Lister’s Gotta List with The Reset Girl A Lister’s Summer (from Summer 2015), MAMBI Dashboard, Tim Holtz Distress Ink – Mustard Seed, Recollections Washi Tape, fashions girls from Pinterest

And here is the full layout.  I love the way the fashion girls tied in with the other stickers on the layout.  Now it’s time for me to write in all my to-dos for the week!  Until next time,

Happy Planning!

Haul x2:  Michael’s and Hobby Lobby

Happy Friday Everyone!

Today I wanted to share my recent hauls from Michael’s and Hobby Lobby.  So let’s get started!

I’ve mixed up all the products so all the ones from Michael’s and Hobby Lobby are spread out between photos.

First up, I purchased an Artist Loft Drawing Pad from Michael’s. I like to use these as pages for the books in my fauxdori. I also purchased a fine tip Marvy Water-In Brush, Dylusions Ink Spray in Cherry Pie and Funky Fuchsia and some Tim Holtz Distress Mini Pad Kit #14 withTwisted Citron, Blueprint Sketch, Hickory Smoke and Ground Espresso.

Next, on I believe Instagram or Facebook, I saw that someone had purchased this storage box for their washi tape and I loved it, especially seeing as how my two washi tape storages are just about full….a girl can never have too many Washi’s!  I also purchased this Zipper Bag that was just too cute to pass up. I will be using it for either my planner pens or small planner stickers for on the go.

Here I have some items that I will be using in Project Life, my Planner and for Scrapbooking. From left to right the items are as follows:  Simple Stories Carpe Diem Sn@p! Pack, the Paper Studio Stick-a-bilities Alpha Black, Gold Foil stickers, Heidi Swapp Stickers, and Becky Higgins Project Life Inspire Mini Kit.

Lastly, I have these two adhesive backing chipboard pieces from Crate Paper. They are a part of he Maggie Holmes collection and the names of them are Open Book and Confetti. There was a third one as well at Hobby Lobby, but I only picked up these two.

Here is everything from the haul all together. I hope you all enjoyed this post. And now I better go and get some creations started!

Happy Crafting!

DIY Mixed Media Embellishments Tutorial

Hello Everyone!!!!

If you follow me on Instagram, yesterday I posted some DIY Embellishments and I wanted to share a tutorial on how to make them with you all today.

If you’re wondering how I found thes embellishments, here’s the story.  On Monday, I stumbled across Inkie Quill’s YouTube Channel and viewed a Grab 5 video where she made these embellishments for a layout she was working on. Unpopular viewing the video, I knew I had to make these embellishments for myself!  So let’s get started!

Minus the Glitter Gold Cardstock from Michael’s, here are the supplies I used.

First, I started off with 2 pieces of white 110lbs heavy cardstock by Recollections at Michael’s…these were from my stash. I covered each strip with White Gesso.

Next, I selected some of my favorite Faber-Castell Gelatos (Cotton Candy, Banana, Bubble Gum, and Margerita Mix), and a Metallic Purple Alex Brand Creamy Crayon. I randomly rubbed each color across each strip of paper.

To give the gelatos and crazy crayons this effect, I simply just added water with the use of my paintbrush.  This looks much better than before right?!?

Now for the fun part, I grabbed 6 punches (3 circle punches, 2 flag/banner punches and 1 mini heart punch) and started punching away.

I was able to punch out this much with just those two strips. I punched out the larger shapes first and with the scrap paper, I used the mini heart and mini circle punch to ensure I used up as much of the strips as possible.

With some Recollections Glitter paper, I used the large and medium sized flag/banner and the circle punches and just punched out a portion of the shape.

With the use of one of my favorite adhesives, Tombow Mono Multi Liquid Glue, I glued the glitter pieces of cardstock to my oh so colorful shapes.  This created a dipped glitter effect without all the mess and fuss.

I had so much fun making these embellishments and I can’t wait to use them in a Scrapbooking layout, in my planner as well as in my Project Life Album.

Here are some completely finished and ready to use embellishments which I will be using in the very near future!

If you want an audio walk through of this tutorial please visit Inkie Quill’s YouTube Channel. She has a ton of awesome videos, also feel free to follow me on Instagram as well.

I hope you all enjoyed this tutorial!

Chic Planning:  June 20-26, 2016 Live Out Your Passion

Hello Everyone!

Today I’m sharing with you all my planner spread for this week. The theme is, “Live Out Your Passions!”  A lot of times we move from day to day just going through the motions. I know I do this. A lot of be time, I’m consumed with the day-to-day of running my household that I sometimes forget about myself. I made this layout to encourage myself to dig deep and set focus on the things besides my family that I am truly passionate about. So let’s get to this week’s layout!

Here is the left side of my layout. I wanted to make sure that the theme stood out. In the left panel I stuck with positive affirmations.

On the right side of my layout, I wanted to remind my lately to dream big and with purpose as well as to take some time out to do the things that make me happy.

Materials Used: Recollections Washi Tape, Artist’s Loft Watercolor Paint, Hobby Lobby Crafts – Red/Pink Glitter Hearts, MAMBI The Happy Planner Stickers and Washi, MAMBI Sticks Stickers

All in all, I love the way this spread came together. And I like the pops of color in the boxes which I did with the use of watercolor paint. I hope this layout which is a source of inspiration and encouragement to myself has also been an inspiration and encouragement to you as well to get out there and create something, to live a life worth living that you are passionate about. And like the quote at the bottom of the page says,

It matters not how long we live, but how.       ~Philip James Bailey

Until next time,

Happy Planning!

Chic Planning:  June 13-19, 2016:  Cave Quest VBS

Hello Everyone!

This week my little beauties are going to Vacation Bible School. So, to honor that I decided to make my theme for this week Cave Quest VBS.

What started out as a flyer quickly became not only a source for inspiration but also an embellishment or extra large sticker and the main focal point of my planner layout for this week. So let’s get started!

Here on the left side of my spread, I simple cut out the main picture from the flyer and glued it to the page.

On the right side I cut out the lizard and the frog from the flyer and glued those down as well.

Materials Used: VBS Flyer; Studio L2E Read It Stamp Set; BoBunny Amen Stamp Set; Inkadinkado Good News Clear Stamp Set; VersaMagic Dew Drop: Turquoise Gem; Illustrated Faith & Recollections Washi Tape; Tim Holtz Distress Ink: Seedless Preserves; MAMBI Sticks Stickers; Illustrated Faith Free Printable

The full spread came together nicely with the added title from the flyer:  Summer Kids Adventure. I paired that with a printable from Illustrated faith (I believe from last year), some washi tape, a MAMBI Sticks sticker for the left panel “Notes” section and I finished it off the looks with some stamps.

Overall I like the way it all came together. Remember not to limit yourself to just your usual planner embellishments and stickers. Really, it’s your planner and you can use whatever you like in it. Make it your own and make it one of your best works yet!  Until next time,

Happy Planning!

Old Gift Cards:  Washi Tape Sample Tutorial

Do you ever wonder what you can do with the pile of old gift cards you have lying around?

Well today, I have a solution for you. Why not turn those old gift cards into washi tape samples that can fit just about anywhere for scrapbooking/planning on the go?

Let’s get started with this very simple tutorial that will have you creating Washi Tape Samples in no time.

To get started, gather some of your old gift cards.

The next step will probably be the hardest and will more than likely take the most time….it’s selecting your favorite washi tape!  And if you’re like me and addicted to the tape, you will have a lot to choose from.

After selecting your top washi tapes you will get one of your gift cards and wrap the tape around it as many times as you like.  I like to wrap mine 10 times around.

Since these samples were for my oldest daughter, I had her assist with the project.

And that’s all too it. Once you’re done making all of your samples you are now ready to use and store them.

This is my daughters storage container that we found at Target where she houses her planner and all her supplies.

She keeps her stickers and washi tape samples in this zipper pouch also from Target.

You can also use the hard clear acrylic from packaging, cut it down to whatever size and use it for samples as well.

The acrylic packaging is also a great way like the gift cards to upcycle and they fit perfectly into the pockets for Pocket Letter Washi Tape Samples.

I hope you all enjoyed this tutorial. Please feel free to follow me on Instagram and also leave me a comment below if you would like to see more tutorials. Thanks and

Happy Planning!

Chic Planning:  June BG Rock

Hello Everyone!

I just wanted to quickly share my June monthly spread with you all. The theme is black girls rock!  I love this printable of the brown girls by Victoria Thatcher!   I paired the printable with nice bright colors and a Target Dollar Spot stencil. So let’s get started!

Here is the right side of my planner layout. And yes that is Prince. It would have been his 58th birthday on the 7th of June.

Here is the left side of the layout. Again we have the bright colors and a tribute to Michael Jackson as the 25th will be 7 years since his passing.

Lastly, here is the full layout. I love the way everything came together to give a rough yet bright and happy layout.  I hope you all have been inspired to create something fun and bright in your next planner layout. Until next time,

Happy Planning!
