October Layouts!

Hello, Hello, Hello!

Today, I just wanted to share with you all real quick my October layouts in my planner. I posted them on my Instagram, but wanted to make sure that I shared them here as well.

So here we go!

The monthly spread. Dedicated to my family in the island. And in memorial for those who lost their lives during Hurricane Maria.

This layout was a camping theme to celebrate our first Girl Scout Camping Trip!!!

Just decided to throw in a little Black Girl Magic.

I made this shaker pocket to go along with the theme.

I found these pretty girls on Pinterest and decided to print them and add them to my planner.

Somehow I forgot to take this photo before them pen…so here it is after. Here I was getting into the Halloween Spirit.

And lastly, this was my layout for the week of Halloween.

As usual, I had so much fun decorating my planner and making it all pretty. And if you’re interested, below you can find more creative happenings from October.

That’s it for today! Tomorrow I will be sharing my layouts for November so far.

Until next time, Happy Planning and Crafting!

James Weekend!

Hello, hello, hello!!!!!

I hope everyone is doing well and enjoying this cooler weather. Recently, I purchased two of the James Burke’s stamp sets, Unbothered and Decora from his Etsy shop.

Over the past year, I have become a fan of James and his art. He’s like that one guy friend that you can literally talk to for hours and never get tired. I watch his YouTube videos every chance I get….like I have literally laughed out loud while watching his videos and have found myself talking to the screen. LOL. I’m not crazy – seriously! Anyway, I have really been inspired and have learned a lot! And I am excited to share with you all the stamps I purchased.

Here we have Unbothered on the left and Decora on the right.

Here are each of the ladies stamped with Onyx Black VersaFine ink and on the right with London Fog Memento Ink. Can you say, “LOOOOOOOVE!!!!”?

After stamping each lady and using some of the head Decora, I decided to play a little. And this is what I created.

The Unicorn Squad! Which when my youngest daughter saw the first girl, she herself had to join in on the fun.

And an “Unbothered” Pocket Letter that I will be sending out on Monday. I figured these ladies could be colored and used for ANY craft project, planner layout, card or mixed media piece…and of course each pocket is loaded with goodies on the back side.

This evening my oldest decided to join in on the fun as well.

They both love the Unicorn Girl!

And then here is the last one I did this evening.

I have really enjoyed playing with this stamp set and I’m looking forward to creating more with these stamp sets.

If you get a chance and haven’t already, you can find James on YouTube or in his Etsy Shop. He is also on social media. And NO, I’m not getting paid for this post, I’m just a fan!

Until next time, Happy Crafting ,

Fall Home Decor Candle Decorating Tutorial

Hello, hello, hello!!!!

Just realized that this post didn’t go out so let’s get started!

Today, I thought I would share with you all a quick and simple way to decorate a candle.

Materials Needed:

  • Candle
  • Brads
  • Paper Piercer (or even a thumb tack)

First things first, once you have gathered your materials, you want to decide where you want to place your brads.

Next, poke holes in your candle, in those desired spots.

Lastly, place your brads in the holes that you poked.

And place in the desired area of your home!!!

That is it!!!! It is truly that simple!!!! And for the other candles, I simple wrapped some hemp around the candle and the tied both ends in a bow. Easy peasy and a great way to add a little extra to your decor!!!

Let me know in the comments what Fall Decor you have created in your home.

Until then, Happy Crafting!

Art Journaling 101

Hello, hello, hello!!!

This morning, I had the opportunity to join in on the Get Messy Webinar: Art Journaling 101.

Although I’m not new to Art Journaling, I thought it would still be fun and learn something new along the way. I think my biggest take-away from the webinar was to have a basic kit and to start with a smaller journal. When you start with a smaller journal, it will be less intimidating and easier to fill. For me this was good, because I’ve always had such BIG journals, so I think having a smaller one will help me to be able to create a habit of art journaling. And for this I am happy.

Below is my creation from the webinar.

I hope you all enjoyed this post and if you are interested in art journaling, be sure to check out Get Messy.

Happy Creating!!!
