Chic Planning: Last Week of Summer Love – September 11-18, 2017

Hello, hello, hello!!!!!

It’s the last official week of the summer season!!!! Where has the time gone?!? To celebrate this last official week, my planner layout for this week is dedicated to the last official week of the season so let’s get started!!!

Last week, I received my new Gorjuss stamps in the mail and I just knew I had to use one in my planner layout for this week!!!

I decided to go with this little beauty.

My youngest didn’t like the fact that she didn’t have a nose or mouth so I drew them in and then accidentally smeared the ink before it was dry….but I still added her to my planner page. I used Jane Davenport’s Magic Wands to color this little beauty.

And as a side note, I like to stamp images on a piece of heavy cardstock or in this case, some watercolor paper so I can color or paint the image for later use on scrapbook pages, cards or for my planner.

So after coloring this Gorjuss beauty, I cute her out….so she was ready to go in my planner.

For my planner, I started out with adding the scalloped stickers followed by some palm leaves and a beautiful large flower and some little ones too. All of the stickers are from one of the large sticker packs from Me and My Big Ideas.

Next, I pulled out my scrapbook chalk by Pebbles, Inc. I seriously think this chalk is at least 9-10 years old!!!!

I used the chalk and lightly brushed the colors across my layout. This technique just some additional interest to the layout.

I finished off the layout by adding stamps and my Gorjuss image that I showed earlier.

Here is the left side of my layout….yea, there was a lot of cleaning at the beginning of this week.

And here is the right side of the layout. I also added some glitter to my Gorjuss girl image to make her dress even prettier.

Above is the full layout before I added the pen to it.

That’s it for today!!!! I hope you all enjoy the rest of today and have a wonderful weekend!!!!

Until next time, Happy Planning!

DIY Starbucks Paper Clip Tutorial

Hello, hello, hello!!!!

I hope you all are doing well. Today I will be showing you all how I made this DIY Starbucks Paper Clip for my planner.

The materials needed to this DIY are as follows:

  • Starbucks cup warmer
  • Scissors
  • Pen or Pencil
  • Any cardstock or printed scrapbook paper (in this tutorial I used a piece of watercolor stationery that I had in my stash)
  • A paper clip
  • Glue stick
  • Glue Gun
  • Stamps (optional)

First you will want to cut out the Starbucks label and then trace it onto the back of your cardstock or printed scrapbook paper.

Cut the circle that you traces and set it to the side.

Next turn your Starbucks logo over and add glue from your glue gun to it. Be careful not to burn yourself with the glue.

Place your paperclip on top of the hot glue and you can even add a little extra glue on top of the paper clip.

Next grab you piece of cardstock or patterned scrapbook paper and place it on top of the hot glue and paper clip. Press hard.

I placed a heavy object on top of the paper clip for a minute or two just to ensure everything binds together.

And here is the front of your completed paperclip!!! It’s really that easy!

Here is the back of my paper clip. The next part of this tutorial is optional, if you would like to make this a reversible paper clip.

So if you do, grab your favorite stamp set and ink and stamp an image on top of your cardstock or patterned scrapbook paper!

I decided to keep mine simple and just add the word, “hustle” to mine.

That is it y’all!!! I hope you enjoyed this little tutorial on how to make a DIY Starbucks Reversible Paper Clip.

Until next time, Happy Crafting!

Chic Planning: Planner Girl – September 4-10, 2017

Hello, Hello, Hello!!!!!

Today I’ll be sharing with you all my planner layout for this week. I had so much fun creating it. So let’s get started!!!

My source of inspiration for this week came from The Paper Studio The Pink Passport paper pack from Hobby Lobby!!!! These scrapbook paper designs are so beautiful! The actual paper itself is thinner than I would like personally, but again, the designs are beautiful and can easily be added to any of planner layout, scrapbook layout or card.

So yes, this is where I gained the inspiration for my planner layout this week.

Here is the original design in the paper pack next to the one I altered.

I knew I wanted to add some color to my girl, so after cutting her out, I decided to use my Copic Markers to add some skin tones as well as add some additional color to the flower in her hair, lips and for the frames of her glasses. To complete the look, I added some Glossy Accents to her glasses.

While waiting for the glossy Accents to dry, I added some Paper Studio Washi Tape to my planner and then glued my girl down on the left side panel.

After looking it all over, it was time to add some stamps from The Sassy Clubto my layout to complete the look.

Here is the left side of my layout, followed by the

right side of my layout.

Here is the completed look of my layout. I ended up adding some scrapbooking/paper chalk to some of the edges around the boxes as well as to the calendar at the top of the left side of the page. I may go back and color in Darla and the other stamped images on the layout. But for now, that’s it.

Join me tomorrow as I give a tutorial on how I made the reversible paper clip in the top right corner of the layout.

Until next time, Happy Planning!

I’m back!!!!

Hello everyone!!!!

It has truly been a long time! Well, I don’t want to waste any time so let’s just jump right into it!

Today, I will be quickly sharing my September Monthly Spread and tomorrow I will be going into a little more detail about my planner layout for this week. So let’s get started!!!

Here is my layout for the month of September. In general, I like to keep these pages a little more simple so I have enough room to write everything throughout the month as they come up. I basically just used rub-one that have been in my stash the last year or two and some Washi Tape.

Recently, I placed my FIRST EVER Planner Sticker order from Oh So Paper and I loved it!!!!! The woman on the left panel came from that company and after adding her, I felt the look I was going for with this layout was complete! Below, you can see some of the other stickers I purchased from Oh So Paper Co. The thing I like the most about these stickers is that the girls come in various shades, making it to where they will work for anyone.

Also, yhe prices were great and I look forward to ordering more in the future.

Well, that is it for today everyone. Please check back tomorrow to see my layout for this week and how it came together.

Here’s a sneak peak:

Until tomorrow, Happy Planning!

Chic Planning – February 13-19, 2017:  Hearts and Things

Hello Everyone!!!

I hope you all are doing well, since this is the week of love, hearts and xoxo’s, I naturally decided to do a simple, quick layout to fit he occasion….Valentine’s Day!  So let’s get started!

Here is the left side of my planner layout. I knew I didn’t want to go all pink and red overload with my layout so I picked a white, blue and gold foil Washi Tape. I also love the Gandhi quote at the bottom of the page. How fitting!

On the right side, I continued with the Washi Tape and added some additional love themed Washi. I also love the cross Washi at the top of the page. I was happy about finding some religious themed Washi at Michael’s.

I love the overall look of the layout and how it’s not to lovey…but just right. I think my unconventional blue heart theme worked out great and all the stickers tied the theme together nicely.

I also wanted to quickly share with you all my full February monthly spread….now that we are in the middle of the month.  Sorry!  But here it goes:

So much love is in this layout!  The girl holding the heart is beyond perfect to me for the month of February!  I found her on Pinterest. All the paw prints are school related things. We are the Tigers!  LOL. I also tried something new with my splashes and blots of watercolor. I actually like the watercolor effects a lot and hope to do them again in the future.

Well, that is it for today. Until next time,

Happy Planning!

Chic Planning:  February 6-12, 2017:  My Black Is Beautiful

Hello Everyone!

Today I wanted to first share with you all last week’s planner spread:

I had a lot going on last week so I wanted to keep the spread as simple as possible. I used the BoHo Collection by Basic Grey Rub-Ons that I’ve had for YEARS, some MAMBI stickers and for the Super Bowl stickers I cut those from a P&G coupon book.  Overall I like the Soft look of the spread.

So on to this week. With February being Black History Month, I wanted to make sure I did a spread in honor of those who have come before me. I was thankful for the free printable by Victoria Thatcher as it was right on time and perfect for the occasion. So let’s get started!

Above is the free printable from Victoria Thatcher.

Here is the left side of the spread. I wanted to make sure that I used the majority of the stickers from the printable.

I love the large size planner space fillers with three women that I have always admired for their smarts, strength and beauty.

Here is the full spread. The three areas that are filled with watercolor bring out the something extra that I felt this layout needed. I think this layout came out perfectly and it makes me feel happy and inspired.

Until next time,

Happy Planning!

Snail Mail Flip Book

Happy Friday Everyone!!!!!

At the end of last year, my niece-in-law shared with me they she had purchased the MAMBI Happy Planner.  To hear this I of course of extra excited. She’s always kept a planner but thought it would be fun to start decorating it as well. When I heard this I knew I had to put some goodies together for her. At first I thought I would just send her a pocket letter…but I soon realized that I would need more space for more items so I decided to make a Flip Book for her. I figured with the flip Book I could make it the size I wanted as well as add as many goodies as I wanted.

So with that being said…now that she’s received her goodies, I would like to share my completed Flip Book with you all…so let’s get started!

Above are all the goodies I sent to her. The Flip Book is the one with the “Life” tag on the cover. I also added a loaded pencil pouch, a “simple things” journal, a notepad and some sticky notes.

At the bottom of the tag, I added a small label and added the message “So Plan Accordingly.” So the front cover reads, L is for Life so plan accordingly!”

In the pencil pouch, I added the following items:

Here is the first part of the pencil pouch. In the pocket, I added some fun paper clips, extra sticky notes and some small tags in the mini envelope.

In the back portion of the pencil pouch, I added a mini journal, a sticker sheet and some sample Washi Tapes.

Above you can see how the first opening in the Flip Book looks.

Here is the left side up close.

And the right side.

I like the way the pockets turned out. This was my first time making vellum pockets.  I can see myself making more in the future.

Above is the Flip Book fully open.  The fashion girls were found on Pinterest and are not attached to the third portion of the book, but are clipped together with an ampersand clip. So let’s see what’s in each section.

This first pocket is filled with more stickers and sticky notes as well as a binder clip and a cute donut magnetic bookmark.

On the second page, we have more sticky notes, a cute double sided tip in and a Kate Spade bow clip.

This third pocket has some religious goodies in it that can easily be added to any planner layout.

In the fourth and final pocket we have some fun and essential planner stickers. And another magnetic bookmark which has a mixed media feel to it.

To me, the Flip Book wouldn’t be complete without adding something to the back cover of the Flip Book. Here I attached a days of the week transparency with Washi Tape.

Above is the fully open Flip Book and the fashion girls from Pinterest that I included.  These girls can be glued onto any divider page or Monthly/Weekly Planner Layout.

I had so much fun making this Flip Book!  I was able to utilize scrapbook paper, Washi Tape and Project Life cards that I had on hand!  And the fact that my niece enjoyed it so much was just the icing on the cake.

Have you made a Flip Book before?  If so, please share in the comments section below what kind of good or themes you’ve done. Until next time,

Happy Crafting!
