Chic Planning: Planner Girl – September 4-10, 2017

Hello, Hello, Hello!!!!!

Today I’ll be sharing with you all my planner layout for this week. I had so much fun creating it. So let’s get started!!!

My source of inspiration for this week came from The Paper Studio The Pink Passport paper pack from Hobby Lobby!!!! These scrapbook paper designs are so beautiful! The actual paper itself is thinner than I would like personally, but again, the designs are beautiful and can easily be added to any of planner layout, scrapbook layout or card.

So yes, this is where I gained the inspiration for my planner layout this week.

Here is the original design in the paper pack next to the one I altered.

I knew I wanted to add some color to my girl, so after cutting her out, I decided to use my Copic Markers to add some skin tones as well as add some additional color to the flower in her hair, lips and for the frames of her glasses. To complete the look, I added some Glossy Accents to her glasses.

While waiting for the glossy Accents to dry, I added some Paper Studio Washi Tape to my planner and then glued my girl down on the left side panel.

After looking it all over, it was time to add some stamps from The Sassy Clubto my layout to complete the look.

Here is the left side of my layout, followed by the

right side of my layout.

Here is the completed look of my layout. I ended up adding some scrapbooking/paper chalk to some of the edges around the boxes as well as to the calendar at the top of the left side of the page. I may go back and color in Darla and the other stamped images on the layout. But for now, that’s it.

Join me tomorrow as I give a tutorial on how I made the reversible paper clip in the top right corner of the layout.

Until next time, Happy Planning!

New Happy Planner Cover

Hello Everyone!

Last night I was able to head to Michael’s to purchase the much anticipated Happy Planner Deluxe Cover-Classic.  When I saw the Me and My Big Ideas Periscope Video, I knew right away that I wanted the yellow, Plan A Happy Life Cover. So today I’ll be sharing that with you all!

As you can see there are a ton of new products to choose from…and Michael’s had a very tempting buy one, get one 50% off sale. But I was good and only got my planner cover for 50% off by using this week’s coupon!

So let’s take a look at this cover!

As stated before, I picked the yellow, Plan A Happy Life Cover. Yellow is one of my favorite colors and this is the brightest, happiest yellow ever!

Here’s a close up. I love the gold foil lettering and the gold heart snap button.

Here is the inside of the cover. As you can see, I’ve already placed my Happy Planner inside and it fits perfectly!  In the inside you have navy and white stripes and two pockets in the front as well as the pocket flap to put extra items in.

Another close up.

For the back of the planner you have another pocket where it seems as though you can possibly place a small notepad in it.  I also added a MAMBI cover to mine – so this way I can still enjoy the back cover that I made for my Happy Planner. I love that this cover came with a pin holder where I placed a matching blue pen.

Close up of he back pocket.

Here is a top view of the planner.

And a side view.   In case you are wondering, I have A MAMBI Dashboard, 9 Months of Monthly/Weekly Pages ( July 2016-March 2017), a Miscellaneous Tab with a folder I made from a file folder, 3 double side laminated pieces of pattern cardstock that has been laminated, 5 notes pages, and a Get It Done Tab, with a MAMBI Fitness monthly planner – just one month. All of this is within the Plan A Happy Life Cover along with the charms I have on my Happy Planner…and I feel confident that I will have room for growth.

On the bottom of the back cover you have the Happy Planner logo. All-in-all, it seems like the Happy Planner Cover is well made and I’m looking forward to using it!  Have you gotten a cover for your Happy Planner yet?  If so, I would love to see how it’s working for you. Until next time,

Happy Planning!

Happy Planner Good-bye’s and Hello’s

Hello Everyone!

Today I wanted to share with you all my review of the Me and My Big Ideas Happy Planner as well as my planner for this upcoming year so let’s get started!

In June of 2015, I purchased the all new Happy Planner. One of the great things about this planner is that it runs for a year and a half. So this planner went from July 2015-December 2016…that’s 18 full months! Over the course of the last year I have changed the cover 3 times. I like the versatility in this planner…hence the 3 cover changes. But pictured above is the original cover.

In the spring when MAMBI came out with their new planners I just couldn’t help myself.  I had to purchase their “Hello Life” Planner.

This is another 18 month calendar like last year. It runs from July 2016-December 2017.

Now to compare the updates made to this years planner versus last years….

The opening page as basically remained the same. I like to add alpha stickers to mine to spell out my name for the spot where you can write who This Happy Planner Belongs To.

One of the major differences between last year and this year’s planner is that last year the planners didn’t come with a year at a glance page(s) and this year they do. However last year, they did have some on the MAMBI Blog that you could print out and add to your Happy Planner (which I did).  So yes, I LOVE this update to the planner.

So the difference between the monthly opening pages has changed slightly. I feel this time around the planner is more about you. I love how you can now list what you are currently into for the month. This to me is a great way for added documentation about your day-to-day life.  I would also think this is perfect considering the fact that the happy planner has also become almost like a scrapbook or a companion to Project Life for some planner girls. This year I will be turning 35, and I will be working on a selfie book to document this year of my life so I am excited about this section.  With this section you still have the birthdays for the month, important dates and goals as in the pervious planner.

As you see above, the monthly pages haven’t changed and this is good because this is a basic universal calendar page.

Lastly, we have the weekly pages. Only one thing has changed with these. MAMBI has taken off the “Morning, Afternoon and Evening” titles from the strips. I’m happy about this personally, because sometimes the words would still show behind the washi tape. The pages also come with a quote at the bottom of every other week’s spread and the Notes section has remained as well.

All-in-all, I have truly enjoyed the versatility of the Happy Planner. I love how it has grown with me. I love how I can change it to fit my mood for the week. I have used stickers, paint, inks and even magazine pages and actual printed pictures to decorate my pages.

I personally have decided to have my planner run from July-June for each year. I will be using the remainder of the months (July-December 2016) as my blogging planner. I’m going to test it out over these next 6 months with different sections to see if this will work for me. I haven’t had a blog calendar that has worked for me yet, so I have big plans for this one. I will keep you all posted on my progress with that.

So real quick, I will like to show you all how I have decorated my 2016-2017 Happy Planner to work for me.

First, here are some of the goodies I purchased with my Happy Planner.

This is my cover for my Happy Planner. I found this girl on Pinterest and added the words to the pencil before printing her off and laminating it.

Here is the opening page of my planner. I added the rub-on butterfly and plant to bring a little more life to the page.

I found this online somewhere last year and loved it so I typed it up in MS Word with the kiss lips as a backdrop and printed it off to use as my back inside cover for my happy planner.

Finally, we’ve come to the end. This is a mixed media looking piece that I found on Pinterest and I added the Inspire~Create~Dream to the right side of the print before running it through my printer and laminating machine and adding it to my Happy Planner.

Well, that is it for today, thank you for sticking with me through this post. As you can see, I truly enjoy this planner and all it has to offer. What are you all using to organize and plan your days/weeks/months?  If you are using the Happy Planner, how are you enjoying it so far? Well, until next time,

Happy Planning!

Product Review: ¬†The Sassy Club Clear Stamp Sets

Hello Everyone!

Saturday I had the opportunity to sit down and play with my new stamps from Sandra Amelia’s The Sassy Club.

With these stamps, I decided to use Versafine Onyx Black Ink along with Memento and VersaMagic Inks as accent inks on Recollections 110lbs white cardstock from Michael’s.  I use baby wipes to clean my stamps hence the baby wipe container and I added the coffee for good measure. LOL

I decided to test out the Planner Girl Stamp Set first.  How cute is that Washi tape???  And the “Mama Needs A Drink” stamp is right on time. LOL. And the clip board can be use to write a quote or add tasks to be done for the day.   Next up was the Sassy Life Stamp Set.  This set is right on time for me as I was on the hunt for makeup brushes and a weight stamp. All the others are just added extra yummy goodness.

I simple adore both of these stamp sets!  The quality of the stamps are high quality. I love the small details and how Sandra added the filler stamps on each set so you can easily color them in with another ink if that is your pleasure.  I mean these stamps are just too stinkin’ cute!  I’m looking forward to using them I both for my planner, project life and future cards. If you have a chance you should definitely check out her stamps. I promise you won’t be disappointed!

Until next time,

Happy Panning!

Hello Sunshine 2016: ¬†Project Life, January 1-3, 2016

Hello, hello, hello!!!!

Today, I wanted to talk about Project Life. I first heard about Project Life in 2009…I tried to give it a try and at the time, it wasn’t the right fit for me…I tried again in 2011, and the same thing happened. I think I may have been over thinking the whole process, because FINALLY  in 2013, I completed my first whole Project Life Album and I’ve been going at it ever since!

For my 2016 Project Life, I will be using the Becky Higgins Project Life Desktop Edition Binder as seen below.

I am totally loving the gold and white stripes. I usually end up using 2 albums for the year, so I always buy them 2 at a time.  I actually found these at Wal*mart for $9.84 each!

Since New Years fell at the end of the week, I wanted to be sure to capture the first three days/first weekend of the New Year separate…so the date won’t be identified on the layout.

In creating my spread for January 1-3, 2016, I decided to keep things very simple on the materials front.  I used the following:  Becky Higgins Project Life Lucky Charm Kit, The Paper Studio Alpha Clear Bling Stickers, Gold Alpha Stickers also by The Paper Studio, Making Memories Shimmer Alpha Black Sticker, and my Corner Chomper.

The Lucky Charm Kit is absolutely adorable!  See below to see what all comes in the kit:

4×6 Journaling & Filler Cards

The thing I like the most about Project Life is that over the last 3 years it has helped me to truly focus on the little things that create the bigger picture called life.  Also, we all enjoy looking back at the albums and seeing how far we’ve come and the great memories that we have been able to make. All of the albums, (our family yearbook) are definitely treasured. So let’s get started won’t first layout for 2016!

Left Side Up Close.

Here is the left side of my layout. I generally do a two page spread for each week. Sometimes, depending on the week, I may add additional pages between the two 12×12 pages to fully capture our week.  I love how my DH took picture of me and Elle playing Uno. It was her first time playing and she loved it!!!

Right Side Close Up.

Above is the right side of my layout. As a New Year’s tradition, the girls like to drink Sparkling Apple Cider in champagne glasses. And on New Year’s Day when we were on our way to Target little Em thought it would be fun to mark up her face with a blue marker. I can’t wait to see what she has to say about this picture as she gets older.

Full Layout.

Finally here is the full layout side by side.  We definitely enjoyed our first 3 days of 2016 and are looking forward to making more great memories throughout the year!
Are any of you also working on Project Life Albums this year?  If so out a link in the comments sections as I would love to see your work. And if you are new to the Project Life concept, please click here to learn more.

Stamp Set Review

Happy Tuesday Everyone!!!!!

I hope everyone is enjoying this Fall weather so far!   Today I wanted to share with you all my newest stamp set. I pre-ordered it last month from Sandra Amelia and it came in just in time for me to do my Planner Layout for last week. So let’s take a look at this stamp set:

Above is the stamp set from Sandra Amelia. I love everything about this stamp set!  I love how on each little image she has added faces to them. I also like how you can customize the book, planner and “currently” rectangle. And the diamond, I mean, what girl doesn’t need a diamonds stamp in her life?!?

Here are the inks I used to stamp the images.

To get comfortable with a stamp set, I like to ink them up using various inks. As seen above, I used VersaMagic, Versafine and Memento. When stamping the images, I liked Versafine the most as it seemed to give a more clear and precise image.

Up close view of the stamps inked onto 110 lb cardstock.

  Upclose view is pictured above.

Stamps and Copic Markers that were used to color in the stamps.

I can’t say enough how much I enjoyed working with this stamp set. I like how much effort Sandra put into making sure you are able to customize the set to your liking.

Stamp set up close with color added to some

Overall, I give this stamp set two thumbs up. I love how you can use it for not only your planner, but also for Project Life or any other Scrapbooking and/or card making project. Also, I noticed that none of my stamps stained which is also amazing, that speaks volumes to the quality of the stamps!!!! Please click here to check out more of the stamp sets Sandra Amelia has to offer.

Until next time, Happy Crafting!
