Mini Haul:  Joann’s & Michael’s

Last week I was able to make it to Joann’s and Michael’s. I was really excited about this trip because the closest Joann’s is 45 minutes away so I can only go when I have errands in town to do…and they have a WAY BIGGER Michael’s than my local Michael’s, so it’s always a win-win there.

So let’s get started and see what goodies I was able to find!

First up is Joann’s!!!  At Joann’s I was able to find some Distress Stains. I recently ordered some online and LOVED them, so I was a bit excited to actually see them in the store. The Distress Stain three pack came in the following colors:  Spiced Marmalade, Aged Mahogany, and Chipped Sapphire.  I also purchased a Fiskars Teresa Collins Star Punch, Heidi Swapp Stickers and also the Fresh Brewed Sizzix Die Cut. Every item excluding the punch was purchased at 40% off because it was already marked down to $6.97!

Next up is Michael’s.

At Michael’s everything minus the pumpkin cards were either on sale or on clearance. Here, I purchased a Hot Buy Scrapbook Calendar pack that also came with some die cuts. I will be using this calendar to complete some quick Scrapbooking Layouts. The stamps I purchased were the XO stamp and and a Hampton Art Vintology Stamp & Stencil set. From Heidi Swapp, I purchased a foil kit and some gold stickers that can be used for Scrapbooking, Project Life, my planner or even for a card. Lastly, I purchased this ultra cute pumpkin card set from Timree. I will more than likely be using the pumpkins on the front for my planner, a shaker card and for future Scrapbooking layouts.

Above are all of the products in one photo. I hope you all enjoyed this post. Until next time,

Happy Crafting!

Epoxy Sticker DIY Tutorial

Hello and Happy Monday Everyone!

Today I will be doing a tutorial on DIY Epoxy Stickers. Epoxy stickers are basically stickers with a resin or clear dome like coating on top. You can use these stickers on various projects like collage work, scrapbook layouts, cards, your planner, project life and many more. So let’s get started with today’s tutorial!

Above you will see the epoxy stickers as well as some mini $1 stamps from Michael’s that I thought would work well for this project.

After selecting the stamps I would use, I picked out two paper pads some ink, a 1″ circle punch, archival ink and some scissors just in case.

Above are the patterned papers and stamps I decided to work with.

I started out by cutting the pattern paper to 2″ strips.

Then I stamped all the images down on the pattern paper.

Next, I grabbed my circle punch and began to punch out the stamped images.

To use up the entire 2″ strips I punched out extra circles for future use.

Here are all the stamped images on the pattern paper.

And the one’s I will be using for this tutorial.

Now for the fun, easy and addictive part, you simply pull off one of your epoxy stickers and carefully place it on top of your pattern paper.

That is it!  Easy as pie!  I added an additional element, I inked the edges of the pattern paper with Tim Holtz Distress Ink in Black Soot and Festive Berries

Here is the epoxy sticker up close.

And all of the ones I made up close. How cute are these?!?

Lastly, I am storing the epoxy stickers in this cute dish from Michael’s. If you like this tutorial and would like to see more like it, please comment or like this post below. Also, please let me know if you give this tutorial a try as I would love to see what you create.  And follow me on Instagram as I am always posting there as well. Until next time,

Happy Crafting!

Mini Scrapbook Layout:  Meet the Teacher Night

Hello, hello, hello!

Today, I will be sharing with you all the layouts I made for the girls Meet-the-Teacher Night at their school last week.

My goal for each child is to capture meaningful moments within their K-12 experience. At the end of each school year, I present them with a scrapbook that charts that year. With that being said, I have completed 3 albums…and I’m behind 1 due to printing issues, but it will be finished soon.

Above are the three types of albums I’ve used.

And a glimpse inside. I keep these pages fairly simple and try to focus more on the stories.

This year I will be working with a 6×8 3-ring scrapbook, which is different for me since I tend to scrapbook on 12×12 or 8×8 pages. So it should be fun. My goal is to try to work on layouts as the events take place instead of completing a whole book at one time.  With that being said, I would like to share with you all my first pages for this school year.

These are the supplies I used to make all of the layouts. I used Bazzill Cardstock – Avalanche for all of the layouts as well as some Tim Holtz Distress Ink – Festive Berries (not pictured here) to ink my edges.

Here we are having a blast at Meet-the-Teacher Night!  This page will be going in my youngest DDs album.

I wanted to have this picture on a page by itself so when we look back on these days, we will remember the day Emmie met her Kindergarten teacher.

Next up is our oldest DDs page. We put the same family photo on each layout since these pages will be going in their individual albums.

Jaelle was so excited about finally getting this teacher, I just love the excitement on her face!

That ends today’s post. I hope you all enjoyed and are inspired by these layouts. Until next time,

Happy Crafting!

Post Vacation Haul

Hello Everyone!

Today, I wanted to share some of my goodies post-vacation. So let’s get started!

This week I was able to make to make it to some of my favorite places:  Hobby Lobby, Michael’s and Target!!!!  And pictured above is what I purchased.  So let’s break it down by store.

First stop Target!  I purchased Horizon Group USA Tags – Library Card which I plan to decorate and use as bookmarks. Also by  Horizon Group USA the Striped Binder Label Tags which I will more than likely use with my bible journaling. I figured with the Alphabet Ribbon that I would use it for Back-to-School gifts for my little beauties. Lastly, I purchased these oh so cute U Brands ballpoint pens. I just love both the diamond wand and the feather. They both write well….and they were only $1.50!!!!!

Next stop was Hobby Lobby.

At Hobby Lobby, I purchased what I needed as well as a little something extra. I wanted another ink blending tool – the rectangular one to be specific. I have both the rectangular and circle ones, but for whatever reason, I like to use the rectangular ones for Tim Holtz Distress Ink – Black Soot and Vintage Photo. I also purchased this Art-c Ephemera Collage Kit. Yeah, I’m looking forward to seeing what goodies it holds.

Lastly, it’s Michael’s!

I didn’t get too much here:  Heidi Swapp Sticker and Mod Podge Peal and Stick Stencil-Starlite. All of these items can be used for various projects, so I am excited about using them as well.

Well, that is it for this haul. Until next time

Happy Crafting!

Mini Haul!

Hello everyone!

I just wanted to share today’s mini haul with you all.

This week, Michael’s has their Recollections washi tape on sale 40% off with a coupon, but for today only, they have a 50% off coupon. So I purchased the above washi tape tubes. At Hobby Lobby, it was a little weird because it seems as though Fall is coming early this year. Yes, they have started putting out their fall decor!  I was like, “Oh My!” when I saw it!

But back to the haul!

Everything else beside the washi tape I purchased at Hobby Lobby. The faith based stamps were only $5.99 (plus and additional 40% off) versus Michael’s $9.99. I also purchased the cute travel stickers, some cool mixed media looking magnetic bookmarks and some fabric pieces and lace in hopes of trying to make some fabric decorative paper clips.

That’s it for now. I hope you all enjoyed this mini haul post!

Until next time, happy crafting!

Project Life:  The story of 2014

Hello Everyone!

So from the title of this post I’m sure you all can guess that I will be talking about Project Life, and yes, it’s the story of 2014.  For Project Life, I tend to have two 12×12 Albums….so 2014 was no different. In 2014 though, I just stopped cold turkey in the Fall and didn’t pick back up until this past Friday. I must say though that I still did good with printing photos. The good thing is that although I wasn’t  physically working in my album, I had printed photos and placed them in the corresponding week’s pockets. So in the grand scheme of things, all I had to do was finish he layouts with Project Life kits, journaling and whichever embellishments I wanted to use.

But back to Friday….I woke up for my morning workout, came home, cleaned our bathrooms, washed and sat down for breakfast….yes, all of this was done before 10am!  Around 1:00pm, I started to get really tired, but I’m not one to take cat naps and I knew I had a little over an hour before I had to pick my daughter up….as I looked at my bookshelf and zoned into my Project Life 2014 Album, I declared right then and there, “today…this weekend I will fully complete Peoject Life 2014!”  And so my quest began!

I tend to work on Project Life on the floor instead of at my desk and pictured above, 2 tape runners, 14 layouts, an opening page and ending page as well as 3 additional layouts later during the extra early hours of Sunday morning, the album was complete!  Above is the mess I left at bed time!

Now I will share with you all Week 39-52 of my 2014 Project Life Album:

And here below are the additional layouts I made:

And that completes today post. Thank you for hanging out with me.  I have one final thought:  In Scrapbooking, we as scrapbookers tend to think that we MUST finish everything right now, and on time.  But I’m here to tell you, it doesn’t matter when you complete a project, all that matters is that you did, no matter the time it took to get there. And on that note,

Happy Crafting!
